Michael has joined and surfaced his Brazilian walnut back and is cutting it to shape.

An offcut of the back is being used as part of the soundhole decoration.

The outer rings are installed first, then the Brazilian walnut ring.

Michael has glued the small finger braces first, which are easier to shape before the larger x-braces are fitted.

The other braces are then fitted and shaped.

The truss rod is glued into the neck.

The sides are then bent and the sides joined at the cutaway with a small internal block.

While the body is gluing Michael starts to shape the ebony fingerboard.

After stoning the frets are recrowned with a concave fret file.

Michael has applied the oil finish and then fits the imbuya scratchplate.
