Derek has cut a channel into his front into which he is inlaying his soundhole decoration.

The rosewood back has been joined and thicknessed, and a strengthening strip is glued along the inside of the join.

The braces have been glued on the front and are carved away to make improve responsiveness.

The bridge is the last brace to be glued.

The sides are bent on a hot iron and checked against the template.

The main assembly is underway with the back next to be glued.

The binding channels are then routed.

The fingerboard is planed to the final dimension, which Derek is checking with dial calipers.

The first few frets are clamped into place to avoid damage to the upper bout.
