Tim has joined the flamed maple cap and is planing it to thickness.

The American walnut body is planed flat to receive the maple cap and checked with a straight edge.

The maple is glued onto the walnut body after channels have been routed for the wiring.

Meanwhile the walnut neck has been blocked up and the truss rod has been fitted. Next up, the headstock veneer is glued on.

The final neck angle is marked on the neck with a sliding bevel.

Tim has fitted an ebony back veneer to his headstock.

The edge of the body is routed for conrner binding.

The corner binding has been fitted and the neck is glued into place.

Final fitting of the block fingerboard inlays is done with a sharp chisel.

The sunburst has been hand applied rather than sprayed, and then lacquered.
