Oliver starts by planing the pear wedges for his front and back.

The halves are glued using sash cramps.

The ebony fingerboard is first planed flat.

The fret slots are cut in the fingerboard before gluing.

The pear neck is blocked up.

The front and back have been shaped and the inside is carved with integral braces.
