Leigh has joined his bookmatched burr walnut facing and is preparing it for gluing to the alder body.

It is glued using plenty of cramps for even pressure.

The neck socket is routed prior to cutting the body to shape.

The edge of the walnut cap is routed to thickness as the first part of carving the top.

The top is then shaped using gouges, planes....

The truss rod is glued into the neck.

Leigh is cutting fret slots using a purpose made jig.

Drilling the holes for the neck screws.

The fret ends are stoned flush with the edge of the fingerboard.

The guitar is finished and reassembled and can now be taken home.
