Once the design is decided upon, the first job is to make a template out of thin plywood.

Chris is using zebrano, or zebrawood for the body.

It is easier to rout the neck socket and control cavities before the body is cut to shape.

The body is bandsawn out and then shaped using rasps...

The truss rod is fitted from the rear in a one piece neck, and covered in this case with a zebrano fillet.
