Chris starts by joining and thicknessing his redwood front.

The soundhole decoration is fitted next, and the soundhole cut out.

Chris has glued the smaller braces first.

The x braces are then glued after the other braces have been shaped.

The truss rod is glued in covered by a wood fillet.

The front, sides and neck are assembled and the guitar takes shape.

The back is now ready to glue.

The saddle slot is routed in the bridge.

The light maple bindings are presealed with shellac to prevent colour migrating from the darker woods.

Chris is now sealing the front with glair, a sizing made from egg white.

The guitar is then French polished.
