A ledge is routed around the edge of the back to start the carving.

The shape is then carved using curved thumb planes.

The inside is then carved out to thickness the plate. The first stage is to drill out the excess.

The intricate soundholes have been cut and the braces fitted, which are then planed to hieght.

The neck has been prepared and the headstock veneer is glued on.
